The view outside the van on the way to the Vs from the airport.  This picture is nice, I should have also taken a shot of all the garbage - at least 4xs what we have from litter!!    The ride was bumpy from all the pot holes and traffic is like a wild computer game - no lanes, just look forward.  Crazy.

This is our friend who joined us every now and then. 

He was more friendly than the cockroches which we had to kill.  This guy didn't bother me compared to the roches.  Whew!! We had made it safe and sound.  After 20 hours of flying - I felt unsteady on my feet for two days.  Will didn't have any problems - he's got good sea legs.  

We had lunch when we got in, had a nap and then right onto a Brazilian schedule.  We went to bed exhausted but slept very well that first night (we were told later there was a noisy party next door but we slept right through it!) and a good thing too because the next day (Sunday) was going to be full of lots of driving and visiting!!!  Thanks be to God for travelling mercies.   His mercies are new every morning!
