November 21th - Part 2

This is a fire caterpiller - if you touch it your skin will burn for 24 hours.  Aren't they pretty?

Time to relax!!

I love the coconut trees!!

These little guys were hanging out beside the building under the window.

Inside the building where Synod was held.

A view of the country side.

A locust type bug that we found.

This guy was tied up at the back of the building.
He seemed altogether too North American (remember Littlest Hobo?) to be there in Esperanca.  Funny how your mind puts certain items/animals/foods etc.. in particular boxes and just expects them to stay there!

There was a barn at the back with these little guys.  That didn't seem as strange to me as the German Shepherd in Brazil.

A banana tree.

More banana tree.

Maca beans ( I think??) - we weren't always understanding each other the greatest.
Smiling is universal and you can still enjoy someone's company despite a language barrier.

The bottom of the banana fruit has the most interesting clam looking oddity.

Some fruit - Guaviola???

The entrance at night.  It get's dark very early in this part of the world - 4:30 already the sun is setting.
It feels odd because to us an early sunset means cold and cozy times with the fireplace on.
There it could possibly mean some reprieve from the heat during the day.
The sun also comes up early between 4:30-5:00.

The coconut trees at night.

Beautiful green!!
