Wednesday, November 23 - Part 1

The church in Camaragibe.

The caretaker (?) lives over the church.

A typical water cistern on top of a building.

The building next door - I liked the color :).

This scene was common - a little outdoor living space pieced together with chairs and tables.

Another pretty color.

A LOVE this color and think it would look awesome in a bathroom - never mind that it's not "in style".

Looking up the road.

Across the street from the church.

The next church - one of the four in Recife (I'll have to fill in the name later, my memory is failing me).

Isn't this neat?

Lots of bars and gates to ensure safety in a city that will have 30 murders in one weekend.

Inside the church - the resin chairs are stacked in the back.

This picture is looking down.
We are looking where a home used to be before it slid down the cliff.

Lots of garbage mixed in the rubble.

This is the building where they first church in Recife had their services.
At the time I do believe that it was someone's home that was "converted" every Sunday.

Looking up the street.

More rubble.

A sister in the LORD.

A fellow crafter!!

It's like latch hooking but abit different - the fabric is stretchy.

The cats in Brazil (the ones we saw anyway) are so skinny!!

Lots of hills and cliffs in Recife.

The school in Recife.

A radio tower built on church property that makes income for the church.

This was from a restraurant we went to - Nao Obrigado means No Thank you!!
No thank you to the meat that comes around continually.

Yes, please - more meat!!
The chicken was all cut different there.  I'm not a huge red meat fan so it wasn't that great to me but everyone else was raving.
