Camping at Alice Lake July 25-28

Best place to nap!!

The following pictures are of our climb up Stawamus Chief Mountain.  It took Will and I one and a half hours and it took Will V., Ethan, Matthew and Peter 45 minutes.  Wow!!
I want to go again next summer when I am in better shape and try to beat our time.
I also have the goal of doing the Grouse Grind this summer.  Brings "date night" to the next level!!!
These steps probably went on for an hour until we reached the "rock climbing" part.

This way of travel is pretty cool!!!  Isn't my daddy handsome?

Eventually, all of lulling of the backpack just put me to sleep!!

Happy to be almost there.  You can't see it but our clothes were drenched in sweat.
Not sure anymore why I chose to wear what I did - felt like dressing up for the mountain I guess.  Probably out of my other clothes and wash day wasn't for two more days :).

It was THAT steep.

Here we had to use a chain to crawl up - I admire Will for doing this hike with 25lb Ben on his back!!!

Hopefully this picture can show how steep it was in some spots.

Looks like we are on the edge of the world.  That's Howe Sound in the background.

Some young ladies stated that they were so inspired by us taking our baby up the mountain.
I did not FEEL inspirational by this point, but I was glad to encourage them that having kids shouldn't stop you from being active.

Beautiful!!!

Surprisingly, going down was harder as your muscles start to shake and quiver. There are concerns that perhaps your knees will give out as you carefully place one leg in front of the other.
Getting to the bottom was such a relief!!  I think it took 3 days for my legs to stop hurting but overall I was thankful for the health and willingness to climb this mountain.  The view was gorgeous and definitely worth the intense work!!  Thank you Lord for sharing your creation with us.
