"Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths: guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long." Psalm 25:4-5

The Boys' Surprise BC Lions Game
Will received 4 free tickets from one of his salesmen at work. At first we didn't know how we would decide who got to go and who didn't. How to make things fair? We couldn't include the kids in our decision because Will wanted it to be a surprise. Our answer came when Aleana was invited to a birthday party soooo we decided that just the boys would go and in the end Aleana was really good about that. Whew!!!
The pictures are alittle mixed up but here they are waiting for the bus still not sure where Dad was taking them. Te he!!!
The seats filled up fast after this shot.
This was BEFORE the renovations at the skydome or whatever its called, so here they are at Empire Stadium. How can you tell I didn't mind staying at home???
So what did the girls do all day you may ask?
We first waited for Aleana to come home from her sleep over.
And then we went to Blaine for gas, groceries and a walk on the promenade there. Don't recommmend that - not much to write home about. The company of just the girls - Lena and Nat was great though and I look forward to many years of outings with our beautiful girls - DV.
Oh right there's a football game going on. Who is winning? Okay now where was I about the girls...yes yes...we had a lovely time and it was wonderful to see and hear all about the exciting adventure they had when we all re-united at 6pm.
You can't see it here because I wouldn't publish it but I was very pleased to hear from Peter (and Matthew) about how "inappropriate" the cheerleaders were - "It's like they were in their underwear Mom!" I hope they shut their eyes!!!

Which reminds me of the time Ethan (about 6 at the time) told the babysitter that she was dressed immodestly! She truly was and hopefully it got her thinking about her clothes in general and what better way to be told then out of the mouths of babes?
For all those cloaked in sadness right now for whatever situation you are in (and I can think of several) - we are praying for you. May you rest in the hands of our almighty God.
The LORD is good and will comfort you

Centennial Beach Day
Who needs waterslides anyway?!?
With the wind it was actually chilly (for me anyway).
Nadia had a hoot getting sand in every oriface of her body.
This is fun Mom!!!
And fun to watch Nadia!
The gang returning from beach combing.
Aleana taking me out to the shore. I was holding onto her because those rocks are sharp!!!
The kids laughed at this picture and said that I looked like an old lady.
It took about five seconds for us to figure out why she was foaming black from her mouth.
Gross!!! Thankfully that's all it was and not some narly necrotic mouth disease :).
The kids laughed at this picture and said that I looked like an old lady.
That reminds me of Matthew and what he said the other day.
"Mom, you have grey hair (not much, but it's there) and you are still having babies!! That's amazing!!"
Compliment or insult? What do you say?
The Second Half of August - 2011
Delving into Sleep Deprivation
It's the teeth.
They push and they tear both of us.
All of us. All evening, all night.
This morning I saw the new tip of white enamel and congratulated her on this latest development.
She looked at me and gave an accomplished smile showing off her nouveau grin. This whole process stretches you beyond what you believe you can bear.
"I can do all things through, Christ who strenthens me" becomes your refrain for every task.
You bear, they tear, they push you to your limits and the tears fall on everyone.
You've done this before - not always so well, but it's been done.
I'm pushing back...
pushing through the pain, rubbing away the hurt,
forging a way for her, and
triumphantly defeating those tremondous teeth.
