This year the retreat was held in Cloverdale Can. Reformed Church. Nice and close for me!!
That's my sewing machine on the right there.
These blots of fabric are in some way supporting an addiction recovery house.
Every Wednesday some of our quilters are sewing with people in recovery.
What a blessing, to be able to lead others in learning the art of quilting!!
I still don't know everyone's names so I won't be able to share that here.
I'm sure some are happy about that anyway :).
Bright colors - right up my alley!!!
There's a little baby (Ethan, which I must say is a good choice for a name:)) under there three days old. That's what you call amazing - and the Mom looks great too!
Stratigizing.
Most of the cross squares we donated for a quilt for the Crisis Pregnancy Centre.
Baby Joshua and his
Mom were sewing together.
We had an excellent chef for the day (no picture), Heidi Aikema and her helper, Katy Bredenhof. Katy was also the very willing baby holder!!
This beautiful quilt was made from the red charm squares from last year and
it was designed by 9yr old Jared Bredenhof!! Good job Jared - it's gorgeous!
Lots of beautiful quilts on display.
The awe-inspiring mosaic just recently hung up in Cloverdale Church, on the celebration of Cloverdale's 60th anniversary. There are dishes in there from all sorts of people alive and dead. My Oma, Grietje Bredenhof's dishes are now a part of this mosaic which was created with an astonishing 6000+ pieces.
Design walls are an excellent way to see someone's project. Loving it, loving it!!
A big THANK-YOU!!!! to our two organizers Jan Bredenhof and Jen Schouten. Without you there would be no retreat and I know alot of us look forward to this day all year, so thanks for going the extra mile for the rest of us, it is greatly appreciated!!!
See, there's a happy quilter!!
Here's happy Clara. ALL afternoon she played contentedly on the floor - born to love sewing machines humming away!!!
Helping each other out.
The proud winner of a door prize - yippee!!!
