Faber Family Fables

Every picture can tell a story...
if you look closely you can see reflections of an eye witness

smiling, with a warm heart,

of father and sons doing life - together.

This picture looks yummy - would you like to take part?
Any time, is a good time at our house.

Except for the times when the spaghetti get's unwittingly dumped.
What to do but take a picture and discuss it's interesting architecture.
That was last week, the same things happened again today - this time a new offender!!
No need to bore you - it would just be same picture, slightly different story.

H1N1 - Guidelines - Please Read!!

Unfortunately, we haven't been taking alot of pictures lately. In the
next couple of weeks I need to gather samples for A and E's
portfolios for school, so I think I will just take a break from
blogging until that is finished. On another blog, I saw these
guidelines which you may have already seen, however, they
are more extensive than the usual "wash your hands".
Thanks to Doula Nic for posting these first and like she said -
be wise but don't panic people!! You most likely will come in
contact with it but if you follow these guidelines your chances
(humanly speaking) of getting sick are much smaller.
Feel free to copy this info. and pass it on. Ultimately, we are all in
the Hands of God - What a Joy and Blessing!!

1. Frequent hand washing. Warm water, soap and sing Happy Birthday or ABCs,
while you lather up (helps to make sure you lather long enough). Wash up to elbows.

2. "Hands-off-the-face"! Resist all temptation to touch any part of your face.

3. Gargle 2x's a day with warm salt water or Listerine. H1N1 takes 2-3 days after
initial infection in the throat/nasal cavity to proliferate and show symptoms. Simple
gargling prevents proliferation. Don't underestimate this simple, inexpensive and powerful prevention method.

4. Clean your nostrils at least once a day with warm salt water. Blowing your nose hard
once a day and swabbing both nostrils with cotton swabs dipped in warm salt water is
very effective in preventing the spread of flu virus.

5. Boost your natural immunity with foods that are rich in Vitamin C (citrus fruits for
example). If you choose to use a supplement make sure it has zinc in it to boost
absorption. Vitamin D also plays a large role in a healthy immune system.

6. Drink frequent warm liquids. They wash off proliferating viruses from the throat
into the stomach where they cannot survive, proliferate or do any harm.

***Tamiflu does NOT kill the influenza virus, but limits further proliferation. H1N1
only infects the upper respiratory tract. The only portals of entry are the nostrils and mouth/throat. In spite of all precautions, you will probably still come into contact with
influenza and H1N1. Contact is not as much of a problem as proliferation is. The above suggestions WILL help with proliferation.

Morning Walk to See the Bunnies and Mr. McGregor's Garden

Join us now as we go for our morning walk...

enjoy some of the scenery...

perhaps have a seat and rest awhile.

Welcome to "Mr. Mc Gregor's Garden".

But first we will stop at the little zoo across the lane from the garden.
Here you will find a white bird of Indian origin.

They enjoy their surroundings as they are shaded by interesting vegetables...
it creates a ceiling landscaped with geometric curiosities.

Bunny communicating with Two Year Old boy.

A lush green garden...

What pray tell is this friendly green giant- a gourd?

We learned from a passer-by that these birds are likely Guinea Hens.

This is a top view of the indwelling of the bunnies and white birds.

Walnut trees tell their own stories of Italian owners with pellet guns.
"Bea noa scareda" he claims as he loads up his gun.
Male company drop their jaws.
"It'sa those squirrels. Theya trya to eata my walnuts.
I geta noa walnuts."
POW. He reloads.
"Alsoa the bluea jay, and crowa theya alla eata my walnuts."
POW!!
"Ah you seea the blacka squirrela he jumpa outa de tree nowa."
POW!!!
Out flies the squirrel barely grabbing the branch across
the alley with his desperate paws.
And that my dear friends,
is our very own "Mr. McGregor".
We go back to watching the birds. Toddler tetters on the edge and carefully shouts to the birds "Here, here chicky chicky, I have punny food for you".

Facing West, a yellow orb rises to greet us,
we lean over the fence and take pictures to remind us of
the joy we receive from
this garden.

Was Eden so beautiful?
Even more so, we can be sure.

In the city the beauty needs to be protected from
pilfers, human and otherwise. Maybe also from snoppy walkers
who love it so much?

Down the middle, there is a path way and every morning Mr. Mc Gregor takes his shopping buggy down and fills it up with all sorts of treats. His wife must be busy in the kitchen preserving and canning thier own Eden. See his leg by the buggy? He was too fast for the photographer.

Can you imagine this picture being taken through the wire fence, amongst the bean leaves so that we wouldn't be seen? That dark figure in the middle is the gardener.
Maybe next time, I will not be so shy and I'll just ask him for a picture.
Needless to say, the children thought this part of the walk was hilarious.

The light is filling us with warmth and love.

Our Walk is almost over - are you TIREd?

What a great way to start the day!!
Join us next time...
Blessings to you all as you enjoy your own Eden gifts from the LORD.

Egypt study. By: Aleana and Ethan.

For school today we had to build a pryamid
and funarul party.
Building a duplo pyramid.
every one's helping out.
The pharaoh is dead! The king is dead!
The queen and pharaoh are riding on a skiff
to the pryamid.
Unloading the pharaoh off the skiff
to join the funarul party.

The pharaoh's body guards are carrying
his body into the pryamid.

Putting his body all the way in.

Leaving the pryamid.

GOOD-BYE

The slaves bringing rocks to fill in the hole.

"Okay. We're done here."
It was a lot of fun!!!
